Isabella High School concluded its 2024 campaign in style with a 31-6 win over Lamar County High School on Oct. 25. The Mustangs finish the season at 4-6 with its bye week in the final week of the regular season on Nov. 1.

“We wanted to go out the right way and send the seniors out the right way, and I thought they did that,” Isabella head coach Tate Leonard said. “Our goal was to play our best game, and we played a pretty good one so I was proud of that.”

The Mustangs quickly built a 21-0 lead behind a 37-yard touchdown run by Jedaiah Works, and two huge plays by Jordan Hines — a 59-yard touchdown pass from Levi Wilkins and a fumble return touchdown. Samir Rincon knocked through a 30-yard field goal to send Isabella into halftime on top 24-0. Works ran for 115 yards on 14 carries.

“The record does not show what this team is, and we were really, really close in games and had some adversity we had to overcome,” Leonard said. “I am very proud of them, they never quit and worked harder every week. There was never a let up and I am super proud of that, and not a lot of teams can say that.”

Javarius Craig put the final touches on the win for the Mustangs with a 10-yard touchdown late in the third quarter.
