Billingsley High School scored early and often on their way to a 50-8 blowout win over Ellwood Christian Academy on Oct. 4 on homecoming night for the Bears.

Quarterback Landon Jones was almost perfect going 8-for-9 for 152 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in a score on the ground. Kyle Boice was his favorite target with the senior making four catches for 131 yards and two touchdowns. Kaden Cotton got in on the action with five carries for 244 yards and added an 80-yard kickoff return on the opening kick of the game. Colton Butler pulled in a touchdown pass too from Jones.

Caleb Massey continued to set the bar for the Bears’ defense with 13 tackles and added a sack, followed by Gabe Cardenas with 10 stops.

Billingsley (3-4) hosts nearby rival Maplesville High School on Oct. 11 for their next matchup, still in Class 1A Region 4 play, with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m.
