Jemison High School won its third Chilton County Volleyball Tournament championship out of the last four winning the 2024 installment on Sept. 28 at Maplesville High School. The Panthers paired their win this season with their back-to-back tournament titles in 2021 and 2022.

Last year’s tournament champions Isabella High School and the host school Maplesville kicked off the tournament in the morning with the Mustangs taking the first-round game in straight sets. Thorsby and Verbena High Schools faced off in the second first-round game with the Rebels earning the semifinal spot.

The Panthers got the best of Isabella in a battle of most recent county tournament champions in the semifinals in straight sets, and Chilton County High School beat Thorsby to set up the final between the two largest schools in the county. Jemison handled the final in straight sets again, clinching the county tournament title without losing a set. Abby Hilyer was named the most valuable player of the 2024 Chilton County Volleyball Tournament for Jemison.
