Jemison High School stepped out of region on Sept. 27 to take on Sylacauga High School, but lost a close contest 28-14.
“There were glimpses here and there, but there were also crucial mistakes, and it is hard to get things done turning the ball over like that,” Jemison head coach Rishard Davis said. “The boys are fighting, but it is just trying to muster up a decent game where there are no mistakes, and that has been our Achilles heel all season.”
Sylacauga forced four turnovers out of the Panthers — two interceptions and two fumbles, which put the visitors behind. Although the tough stretch, head coach Rishard Davis is proud of the team showing up each game and the effort that is there. He added that the team just may be trying a bit too hard, but once that is solved, wins could be on the horizon.
Jemison (0-6) is on a bye next week before it gets back to Class 5A Region 3 play for its next matchup on Oct. 11 traveling to Northside High School. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
