Chilton County handles Brookwood for homecoming win

Chilton County High School took its homecoming win comfortably over Brookwood High School to the tune of 39-7. The Tigers broke the game open in the second quarter and cruised the rest of the way to their second win of the season.

Kelijah Lucas shined for CCHS, carrying the ball 19 times for 246 yards and three touchdowns. Draden Brown took in a lengthy touchdown run, and Payton Shepherd secured the defensive side of the ball with a pick six during the big second quarter.

Chilton County (2-4) travels to Chelsea High School for its next game on Oct. 4, back in Class 6A Region 3. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
