The 2024 Chilton County Relay for Life Queens are once again using their influence to help children feel special this Halloween, taking in costume donations for the Children’s of Alabama hospital.

The Relay Queens will accept the costume donations to take to Children’s of Alabama from Sept. 23 to Oct. 18. The costumes must be purchased new, and sizes can range from infant to teen sizes for both boys and girls. Costume donations can be dropped off at the Chilton County DHR Office (324 Health Center Drive, Clanton), Elite Salon (205 Seventh St. S., Clanton) or Glitz & Gowns (225 Kent Stone Blvd., Alabaster). Costume donations can also be made directly to one of the Relay Queens, or a monetary donation to the queens to purchase the costume to donate. The Relay Queens will deliver the costumes to Children’s of Alabama the week before Halloween.

The queens asked to refrain from donating scary costumes, and for costumes to be appropriately cut for wear. Also, articles of clothing like hats, headbands, bibs, socks, etc. can be donated for children who cannot wear a full costume.
