As part of the Humane Society of Chilton County’s second annual Howloween Festival this October, they are adding an online pet costume contest as part of the festivities.

People can send in photos of their pets in a costume along with the pet’s name, the owner’s name and their phone number to the “Humane Society of Chilton County” Facebook page or by email to hscc.howloween@gmail.com to enter the contest. The deadline for submission is Oct. 11, and all submissions will be uploaded to an album on the Facebook page on Oct. 12. Visitors to the photo album can like their favorite pet costume, and the one with the most likes will be named the winner. Deadline for voting is midnight on Oct. 25.

The winning pet will receive a gift bag filled with treats and toys, and the pet’s owner will receive a $50 cash prize.

The online event is a build up to the Howloween Festival on Oct. 26 at Ollie Park from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. The event will feature games with prizes, inflatables, food trucks and vendors. Last year’s event raised over $8,000 for the Humane Society.
