The Clanton Police Department announced on Sept. 18 that they have made an arrest following one of the investigations into recent threats made towards schools in Chilton County. The CPD detective division worked with school officials to build an investigation and the eventual arrest on Sept. 17 of a 15-year-old male on one count of Making a Terrorist Threat. The department said the subject will be charged under section 13A-10-5 of the Alabama Code — “refusing to aid a peace officer.”

The code goes on to describe the section as “a person commits the crime of refusing to aid a peace officer if, upon command by a peace officer identified to him as such, he fails or refuses to aid such peace officer in — a) effecting or securing a lawful arrest or b) preventing the commission by another person of any offense.”
