New queens were crowned on Aug. 17 that will represent Chilton County and everything it has to offer at the Miss Chilton County Pageant. In the end, it was Chilton County High School junior Cresley Haggard who was named the 2024 Miss Chilton County Queen. Haggard was named a Miss Chilton County Queen for the third time after she won the Young Miss crown in 2018 and the Junior Miss title in 2021.

“It never gets old, and every time I have felt so blessed and filled with gratitude to be able to represent my county in these ways,” Haggard said. “Miss Chilton County opens up so many different doors for me, and I could not be more thankful for the opportunities it has given me.”

The pageant veteran said the things she has learned from past years serving as a queen herself, and from watching the Miss queen during those years, will help her tremendously in her new reign. Along with being a Miss Chilton County Queen three times, Haggard has also been a Peach Queen twice and a Swedish Festival Queen once, giving her five crowns now she has had the privilege of wearing.

Having the ability to give back to the community through community service opportunities is something Haggard has enjoyed during her reigns in the past. The Miss Chilton County Pageant in particular has helped open a number of different ways for her to give back. Haggard wants to do as much community service during her reign as she can to give back to the community that she feels has given her so much.

“I feel like my community does so much for me, and I feel like this opens up so many ways to give back to them,” Haggard said.

While the fruit queens’ representation is self-explanatory, the Miss Chilton County Queens have the opportunity to represent the county as a whole. The queens try to do as much as they can in all of the municipalities in the county by visiting them at least twice each year. The queens do their best to spread their influence out across Chilton County as much as they can.

“It is really hard and it keeps us busy, but we love every minute of it,” Haggard said. “I am so excited and thankful for this opportunity.”

Haggard is looking forward to being a good role model for young, aspiring Miss Chilton County Queens. She has dedicated a lot of time in her past reigns to being a positive role model for them, and wants to continue to do the same this upcoming year. Haggard will be joined in the year’s reign by Junior Miss Chilton County Queen Lexi Kate Hayes, Young Miss Chilton County Queen Hadley Lively and Little Miss Chilton County Queen Elliett Arnold.
