The Clanton 6U All Stars youth softball team was recognized for its state and World Series championship wins this past season at the Clanton City Council meeting on Aug. 12. The five-and-six-year-old girls finished third at the USA Rec World Series, presented by USA Softball of Alabama, in 2023 and took the extra step this year by winning the entire thing in Albertville.

Along the way, the Clanton 6U All Stars won their district tournament in Helena and Jemison and the USA Rec All-Stars Alabama State Tournament in Gardendale in June. The Clanton City Council recognized each player and coach in front of the audience at the meeting and presented the team with a plaque for their accomplishments. Another copy of the plaque will be hung at Clanton City Hall.

A sign was also hung at the Clanton City Park fields by the Clanton Girls Softball League commemorating the team’s accomplishments with each player and coaches’ name on it.
