The Chilton County Relay for Life Queens made their annual visit to Joe Lee Griffin Hope Lodge in Birmingham in July to support the cancer patients and let them know they are not fighting alone. The queens and their families visited with the cancer patients staying at the lodge, and got the opportunity to cook for the families of the patients as well.

“The best part of the evening was sitting and talking to the residents, and letting them know we are fighting with them,” Sunny Mays, Chilton County Relay for Life Organizer, said. “This is one of our favorite events we do.”

The queens ended their visit by tossing pennies into the fountain, making a wish for no more cancer.
