The City of Clanton announced on July 22 that its farmer’s market in downtown at Clanton Corner Park will be moving from Mondays to Fridays for the remainder of the summer.

The newly established farmer’s market saw large turnouts throughout the first two months they were held. Earlier in July, weather forced a move of the farmer’s market one week from a Monday evening to a Friday evening. The impromptu move was met with a great response by vendors, customers and residents who enjoyed having the farmer’s market on Fridays as opposed to Mondays.

This led to the City of Clanton to move the farmer’s market permanently to Fridays. Friday evenings in downtown Clanton will now be the time to come out and purchase locally grown fruits and vegetables and homemade treats. Food trucks have also made appearances at the farmer’s market throughout the summer, and restaurants in downtown Clanton have extended hours to during the market to serve customers.

The first farmer’s market on Fridays in downtown Clanton will be held on July 26 from 5-7 p.m. Vendor setup starts no earlier than 4 p.m., and not business license is needed to set up at the park, but an Alabama Growers Permit of Cottage Law Certification is needed to operate.
