The Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles held 22 parole hearings on July 17, one of which involved a Chilton County offender.
Wesley Matthew Melton was denied parole by the board during his hearing. Melton did receive a reset date of July 1, 2028 for his next parole hearing, and no one spoke in favor or against Melton being granted parole during the hearing.
Melton is currently serving a 101-month sentence for a Robbery III arrest in Chilton County on Aug. 30, 2022. He is also serving a concurrent 65-month sentence for a Receiving Stolen Property I arrest on the same day. Melton has currently served two years, 10 months and 29 days of his 101-month sentence with 371 days of jail credit and 837 days of good time received included, and he has a minimum release date of Jan. 23, 2030.
Previously, Melton was arrested for Theft of Property II in Chilton County on May 12, 2020, and was sentenced to 36 months before being released on March 27, 2021.
