Every year, the Chilton County Relay for Life Queens travel to Montgomery to meet with Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey and receive a proclamation for the cancer awareness they spread throughout their year-long reign.

The recently crowned Relay for Life Queens — Wee Miss Relay Haizel Grace Smith, Tiny Miss Relay Caroline Ray, Little Miss Relay Kailynn Bailey, Young Miss Relay Ava Whittle, Junior Miss Relay Kinnsley Traywick and Miss Relay Gracie Brewer, made their trip to the capitol on June 6 to meet with Ivey. The queens received a signed proclamation from Ivey and the Alabama State Capitol for raising awareness for all cancers, promoting early detection, serving patients at the Birmingham Hope Lodge and raising funds for cancer research.
