As spring rolls into season, so do youth sports across Chilton County. While spring youth sports ramp up, high school sports are winding down before summer break. In hopes to continue to keep great local sports content going throughout the summer months, we are starting the ‘Little Local Spotlight’ section that will be featured on the sports page.

The section will highlight a specific game, player or play from the youth level in Chilton County. We ask that parents, coaches or fans send in Little Local Spotlight nominations each week by Thursday at noon, and only nominations sent in from the community will potentially be featured in the section. Only one spotlight will be featured in the section each week, so not every nomination will be featured. If there are no nominations submitted for that week, no section will be put together.

Please send in the team, player, any stats and a photo with each nomination. Nominations may be sent to news@clantonadvertiser.com, and please add Little Local Spotlight to the email somewhere.

I hope the addition of this section can continue to showcase the sports scene in Chilton County well, produce solid sports content during some down months in the summer and get more youth league coverage into the news. Thank you in advance to everyone who may participate and send in nominations.
