Two Chilton offenders denied parole

Two Chilton County offenders were denied parole on Oct. 19 by the Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles.
Butch Eugene Gibbs was denied parole but received a reset date of Oct. 1, 2025. Nayla Contreras of the Attorney General’s office spoke against Gibbs receiving parole at his hearing.
Gibbs is currently serving a 30-year sentence for a Theft of Property I arrest in Chilton County on May 23, 2000.
James Marquise Worthey was also denied parole by the board during his hearing. Deidra Worthey, his mother, spoke on behalf of parole being granted during the hearing. Worthey is currently serving a 120-month sentence for a Distribution of a Control Substance arrest on Nov. 8, 2021.
