Parole granted for Chilton offender

Parole was granted on Oct. 4 to a Chilton offender by the Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles. Quinton Smith was granted parole by the board. Marion Smith, Smith’s brother, spoke in favor of him being granted parole.
The board voted to grant Smith parole with a special condition to complete the Perry County Probation/Parole Reentry Education Program (PREP) and Drug Assessment upon his release.
Smith was sentenced on April 15, 1996 for a Theft of Property I charge in Autauga County. He was sentenced for a Possession of Burglar’s Tools charge in Chilton County on May 28, 1996. Those sentences were served concurrently along with two other charges of Possession of Marijuana I and Theft of Property II from Talladega and Jefferson counties, respectively.
