Well, the time is here again for Chilton County football and I am just as excited for it as the rest of us. However, after some changes to publishing since last season, there will be some tweaks in how we shape our coverage of the 2023 football season and the seven teams we cover. I wanted to make sure everyone knew where and how to access the stories and coverage of your favorite teams before the season hit full speed.
Until further notice, we will only have one writer in the county each Friday night. I will cover one game each Friday night and write the story after the game to be published on the front page of the paper that comes out the next day. During weeks where there are games on Thursday and Friday night, like this week, there will be two stories on the front page. The other game stories that week will be written and posted the Saturday morning after them at www.clantonadvertiser.com. You can obtain access to our website at www.clantonadvertiser.com/subscriptions that will have all of the football stories each Friday night by 1 p.m. the day after.
Since The Clanton Advertiser only prints one paper per week now on Saturday mornings. So, the other game stories from this week (Billingsley at Prattville Christian, Meek at Maplesville and Central Coosa at Verbena) will run in a center spread section in the next paper (Sept. 3). Those stories will run after the teams have already played their next game, but due to printing once a week this has been deemed the best way to do that.
Week 2 games that are not covered in person and are posted online will run in the paper after the week 3 games and so forth. All stories for all teams will run in the paper, and there will be a story for all 10 games for all seven teams we cover this season.
Thank you for your readership, and if you have any questions please call The Clanton Advertiser office at 205-755-5747 or visit the office at 1109 7th St. North, Clanton.
