Parole denied for Chilton offenders

The Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles held sessions on July 26 and Aug. 8, and both sessions included a hearing for a Chilton County offender.
Robbie Ray Roper was denied parole on July 26 by the board, but received a reset date for July 1, 2025. No one spoke for or against Roper being granted parole during the hearing. Roper is currently serving a 15-year sentence for Violation of Sex Offender Registry that occurred in Chilton County on Nov. 4, 2021.
Royce Earl Willie was denied parole on Aug. 8 by the board and did not receive a reset date. Willie is currently serving a 14-year and 5-month sentence for Sodomy I that occurred in Chilton County. At the hearing, Darric Miller and Darren Miller, the victims of Willie, and Yomaira Miller, one of the victim’s wife, spoke against Willie receiving parole. Doris Hancock and Jackie Fowler of the district attorney’s office also spoke against Willie receiving parole. Willie was sentence on Nov. 20, 2013 for his crimes.
