Single-car wreck claims Chilton life

MONTGOMERY POST – A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 5 a.m. Saturday, July, 29, has claimed the life of a Jemison man. Joseph K. Baker, 30, was fatally injured when the 2020 Nissan Pathfinder that he was driving left the roadway and struck a utility pole. Baker was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The crash occurred on U.S. 31 near the 214 mile marker, approximately three miles north of Jemison, in Chilton County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
