The Clanton City Council chose to reject the sole bid it received for site grading work for property located along U.S. Highway 31 across from Walmart in Clanton. Resolution 2023-05-15-01 to reject the bid was proposed by Councilman Billy Singleton and unanimously passed by the council.

The land is between Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen and San Marcos Mexican restaurant on Seventh St. S. Clanton Mayor Jeff Mims said the bid was not right for the county and they will reenter the bid in hopes of finding a better suited estimate to complete the site grading.
