From Clanton Post Office
The 31st Annual National Association of Letter Carriers Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive is coming up, and we are asking everyone in the community to take part in the nationwide, one day event. It’s simple to participate–all you need to do is leave non-perishable food donations in your mailbox or hanging on them the morning of May 13, 2023, for your letter carrier to pick up. Please don’t place on the ground in case of rain. The letter carriers will then deliver all food collected to the food bank!
What should you fill your bag with?
Canned fruits and vegetables
Canned soups
Canned meats like tuna fish
Cereals
Peanut butter
Please no glass jars.
This food comes at a crucial time, as we near summer vacation, the need for food increases. Many students receive free and reduced-price lunch during the school year and lose these meals when school lets out for summer. This is where you and the food bank steps in. We can help close the summer meal gap through our partner agencies and summer feeding sites.
Help us at the Clanton Post Office make this year one of the best food drives ever!
