Significant amount of meth found during traffic stop

On Feb. 22, 2023, while on patrol, Clanton Police Department Officer James Dickens conducted a traffic stop near the 1400 block of Second Avenue in Clanton. During the traffic stop, Dickens located a significant quantity of illegal drugs which led to the arrest of Rasheem Tremayne McCoy, 32 years old of Clanton.
The subject was arrested on the following charges:
Drug Trafficking (methamphetamine), possession of marijuana second and possession of drug paraphernalia while recovering approximately 65 grams of methamphetamine, approximately 13 grams of marijuana and two scales being utilized to weight the illegal narcotics.
McCoy held outstanding warrants through City of Clanton and is currently on Community of Corrections Probation through the State of Alabama. McCoy remains in the Chilton County Jail on a $1,000,000 bond and McCoy’s Probation has been revoked by Community of Corrections after receiving new charges while on Probation for other drug charges.
