It is that time of year again. When Chilton County residents get to nominate and then vote for their local favorites to be included in the Best of the Best listing for the year.

Each year, I enjoy seeing who gets nominated. The winners list has become a quick guide for me when looking for local places to recommend. These businesses and organizations are a part of what makes Chilton County what it is. Each year, community pride is on display in the number of people who participate in the contest.

Have a favorite locally-owned restaurant? Make sure to nominate them! Have a doctor in Chilton County who really cares? Nominate them! Love where you shop for gifts and clothes in Clanton, Jemison, Maplesville or Thorsby? Nominate the store!

We have several categories, and you can vote in as many or as few as you want. A few new one’s have been added this year, including Best Mexican Restaurant and Best Financial Advisor. Be sure to check out the entire ballot at clantonadvertiser.com under the “Best of” tab. Only one nomination per day per category is allowed. Nominations thought to be cheating will be disqualified.

Businesses and organizations, feel free to lobby your customers for nominations.

The nomination round starts on Feb. 27 and ends on March 17. The top three to five nominees will go on to the voting round. It takes some time to get everything ready for the voting round, so it will begin on April 24.
