From Thorsby High School
Students from Thorsby High School’s Pre-K to third grade recently raised $2,323 to help the librarian, Vanessa Langston, buy books and supplies for the library. Sixteen students raised money outside of the school with the hopes of being named Sweetheart King and Sweetheart Queen. This year’s Sweetheart Queen is Paisley M. who raised $300 and the Runner-Up is Rhylee L. who turned in $210. The 2023 Sweetheart King is Fowler C. who turned in a total of $400, and Bryson L. was the Runner-Up with a total of $125. The funds that the students donated will help provide prizes and supplies for the school’s Read Across America activities as well as purchase books for the library. Langston said that the support of these students and their families is a blessing for our school and helps her provide more fun activities and supplies that benefit all of the students at Thorsby.
