All Chilton County Schools and Chilton Christian Academy will be dismissing early on Feb. 16 in anticipation of severe weather.

CCS Superintendent Corey Clements said he received a National Weather Service update at 2:43 p.m. on Feb. 15 that had a portion of Maplesville and Stanton expected to have storms coming trough at noon.

“We felt we needed to go ahead and make the decision to dismiss early,” Clements said. “We want to make sure everyone is safe.”

Schools will be dismissing at 11 a.m. At Clanton and Jemison schools that have staggered dismissal times, the goal is to have all of the buses gone by 11 a.m.

CCA will have staggered early dismissal with preschool at 11 a.m., kindergarten at 11:15 a.m., first grade to sixth grade at 11:30 am. and high school at 11:45 a.m.
