A new opportunity for car enthusiasts is coming to Clanton.

Chilton Toyz 1st Annual Car Meet, sponsored by Slim’s Detailing and Eli Good of the IB_Good YouTube channel, will be a free event on Jan. 7 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Goose Pond Park in Clanton for cars of all makes and models to be shown.

Raymond Holloway III of Slim’s Detailing in Clanton said he had wanted to host a car meet event since he opened his detailing shop in 2020.

“I have just been trying to grow, and just get my name out there more, and I felt doing a car meet … would be a good way to do it, and also (it) is something that I love,” Holloway said.

January is usually “the off season” for car shows, so Holloway said “it was a good time to get out and … show off your toys.”

Good does a lot of videos about cars on his channel and will be getting some content during the event. Holloway said the two had been friends for several years.

Holloway’s interest in cars started at a young age.

“My mom used to take me to car shows all the time,” Holloway said. “My big brother was also into cars, so I was kind of into it from an early age.”

Today, he enjoys meeting new people and seeing custom cars at meets and car shows.

The event will also include bounce houses for children and the Yuuuup! It’s Good food truck.

“It is going to be a family event,” Holloway said.

He will be showcasing his 1971 Cutlass as well as some cars he has detailed at the event.

Holloway said he hopes to host a judged car show this summer.
