Food truck fun is coming to Clanton as a part of 1st Friday Food Trucks.

First Bank of Alabama of Clanton will host “Yuuuup! It’s Good” food truck of Calera on Jan. 6 as the first of its community events scheduled for this year.

The first event of this kind was held in November 2022, and the company is planning on having a food truck on the first Friday of every month in 2023.

“It was our president’s wife’s idea to … get out into the community and serve our customers and make our name well-known,” Kacey McCluskey, a financial specialist at the bank, said.  “We are just trying to get ourselves out there as much as we can and let the community know that we are here, and we want to be involved as much as we can.”

The food truck will be at 102 Fifth Street S in Clanton from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

McCluskey explained that the food truck will be on the Fifth Street side of the bank.

“I am excited about getting out in the community putting our name out there,” McCluskey said. “Letting people know that we are out here and that we are here to help them.”

While a bank has been at the Fifth Street location for several years, the bank is still working on updating the community on improvements that came as a part of changing from SouthFirst to First Bank of Alabama, including offering credit cards and loans.

McCluskey said she has enjoyed working for the new bank.

“They truly care about us, and I want all of our customers to feel about the bank like I do,” McCluskey said.
