Health Sciences students at LeCroy Career Technical Center recently completed a pumpkin display in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The 30 or so pink pumpkin creations were on display outside the department’s entrance.
A student-led committee pitched the idea as something for the class to do since it was Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Halloween was coming up, senior Yesenia Sereano said.
Several of the students found inspiration for their project by looking up similar projects on the internet.
Sereano, junior Braelyn Whitfield and junior Chloe Barnett said they enjoyed the project because it was a way to support Breast Cancer Awareness. She incorporated the pink breast cancer ribbon symbols into her design.
Owen Littleton, a junior in the program, said the project was fun because it let him be creative.
Whitfield enjoyed painting the pumpkins and how the display combined breast cancer and Halloween. She also incorporated the breast cancer awareness ribbon symbol in her design.
Senior Jason Baker said he enjoyed that all of the classes came together to work on the same project.
