Local politicians are being invited to participate in the Relay For Life of Chilton County in a special way this year.

Pie a Politician is being held as a way for local politicians to help raise funds.

Politicians sign up and raise funds, trying to raise the most and avoid getting a pie to the face, according to Relay committee member Sunny Mays.

Three politicians have already signed up, but the deadline is approaching. Those interested in participating need to contact April Coker-Knox at mamamadeitpastries@gmail.com prior to May 4.

Relay for Life is an annual campaign to raise funds for the American Cancer Society as it continues to serve those who are fighting cancer, promote healthy lifestyles and fund research to one day find a cure.

Relay For Life of Chilton County will be held on May 7 at 6 p.m. at Peach Park.
