The Clanton Kiwanis Club is accepting applications for three $1,000 scholarships.

This opportunity is open to all high school juniors in Chilton County.

According to information from the club, the funds can be used to attend the college, university, technical school, vocational school or trade school of the student’s choice.

Funds will be paid directly to the school by the club.

Financial need, academics and community involvement are the main consideration for the committee awarding the grants.

The club states that the scholarship is a part of its dedication to serving the children of this community.

Proceeds from the club’s Spring Carnival and the Chilton County Fair make the scholarships possible.

Completed applications and a letter of recommendation must be mailed to the address listed on the application.

The deadline to apply is May 15.
