Local businesses are coming together to hold a free round-table discussion about what the Chilton County real estate market will likely look like in 2022.
Dubbed the “2022 Market Mingle,” this in-person and Facebook Live event on Jan. 24 will feature representatives from EXIT Royal Realty, closing and title attorneys Roper & Wilson and FirstBank Mortgage.
The in-person event begins at 5:30 p.m. at EXIT Royal Realty’s office, 619A Second Avenue S in Clanton. The Facebook Live portion will begin at 6 p.m.
“2021 was really a great year for real estate and really a sellers’ market,” real estate agent Jeannie Smith said.
This was created because there were more people interested in buying a home than there were homes available.
“We had a shortage of inventory and more buyers than inventory, which created the sellers’ market,” Smith said.
The event will give a snapshot of what sellers and buyers can expect in the coming year as well as general information about the local market for anyone that is interested.
This will include discussion about “interest rates, what changes can we expect in 2022 — can we still expect to be a sellers’ market? What is our inventory going to look like?” Smith said.
Questions will also be taken from attendees at both versions of the event. During the Facebook Live, questions can be asked through the comments section.
The Facebook Live can be accessed from facebook.com/southernxtreme.signs or facebook.com/kim.lewellen1.
If the event is successful, the partner organizations hope to hold similar events on a quarterly basis.
