The Alabama Board of Pardons and Parole has granted parole to Rodreikius Octavius Dennis of Chilton County.

The decision was released on Jan. 4, along with a list of other parole decisions made on Dec. 16, 2021.

Parole was granted with the requirement that Dennis complete 50 hours of community service and drug assessment after his release.

During the Dec. 16 hearing, the board heard from family members in favor of parole being granted.

According to the Alabama Department of Corrections, Dennis had been sentenced to 6 years on drug possession and possession of a pistol after being convicted of violence charges on Feb. 22, 2021.

He served 10 months and 13 days.
