Collectors of rare and antique items in Chilton County that are looking to sell have a new opportunity to consider as The History Channel’s “American Pickers” is scheduling stops in Alabama.
According to a press release from Cineflix Productions, which produces the show, the show will be filming in Alabama in February 2022.
“American Pickers is a documentary series that explores the fascinating world of antique ‘picking’ on The History Channel,” the release states. “The hit show follows skilled pickers in the business, as they hunt for America’s most valuable antiques. They are always excited to find sizeable, unique collections and learn the interesting stories behind them. As they hit the back roads from coast to coast, the Pickers are on a mission to recycle and rescue forgotten
relics. Along the way, they want to meet characters with remarkable and exceptional items. They hope to give historically significant objects a new lease on life while learning a thing or two about America’s past along the way.”
The show is looking for items that the Pickers have never seen before. Chilton County residents that have a “large, private collection or accumulation of antiques” they think fits the description can submit for consideration by sending name, phone number, location, and description of the
collection with photos to americanpickers@cineflix.com or calling 646-493-2184. The production company can also be contacted on Facebook @GotAPick.
State and CDC guidelines for COVID-19 are being followed throughout the picking and filming process.
