Details have become available on an incident that shutdown a portion of Highway 31 near County Road 23 on Oct. 14.
The Chilton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a house in the area, where someone had been found unconscious in their yard. The victim was transported via helicopter to UAB Hospital.
CCSO Assistant Chief Deputy Shane Mayfield said Brandon Lee Pylant was arrested in connection to the incident.
“Brandon Lee Pylant was arrested on charges of assault second degree, robbery first degree and theft of property first degree,” Mayfield said. “We believe Pylant and the victim were acquainted and that Pylant came to the victim’s residence after recently being released from prison and having nowhere to go. We believed Pylant assaulted the victim and took personal property and an ATV.”
The victim has since been discharged from the hospital.
“Pylant was located in the area that night (Oct. 14) by deputies in possession of the victim’s ATV and other personal property,” Mayfield said.
Pylant remains in the Chilton County Jail.
