The Maplesville Police Department wanted to come up with something to try to build a bridge between the students and the departments. A couple of years ago while in Texas teaching a class, Chief Robbie Autery saw a patrol car painted up to represent the school.

“I thought how cool would that be if we did that here,” Autery said. “After working with Haynes emergency lighting in Montgomery, we finally settled on the current look. Prior to unveiling it to the football team and driving it in the homecoming parade, I was able to talk about life’s choices to them and explain that we at the PD are here to support them through whatever life throws at them, we’re not here just to arrest people.”
