The YMCA of Chilton County and Lomax Assembly have partnered up for a special event on Sept. 12.
Together, they are putting on their first ever kids triathlon.
The event will take place at the Clanton City Pool and Clanton City Park, and will be for kids ages 6-12.
Kids that participate will have to swim, bike and run in the event, and all proceeds will go to Lomax Assembly’s Boys and Girls Missionary Challenge.
“We raise funds for missionaries across the world to meet critical needs,” Lomax Assembly member Cathy Newton said. “(We want) to create a heart of passion within our kids to give what they’ve been blessed with. That’s what BGMC is.”
Additional donations to BGMC can be given at www.lomaxag.com/give.
While all the proceeds will go to BGMC, there will be prizes available for the participants to win.
It costs $25 to register, and all participants are asked to pre-register at www.lomaxag.com/events.
Registration is open until 4 p.m. on Sept. 12.
