The deadline is approaching for community members in Thorsby, Jemison and Maplesville to fill out the public comment survey as a part of each town’s strategic plan process.
Residents are being given the opportunity to weigh in on what their town should look like in the future through an online survey.
The deadline for Jemison residents to complete their town specific survey is Aug. 20. This is also the deadline for Maplesville residents.
Thorsby residents have until Sept. 15 because the public input meeting was held at a later date then the other two.
These in-person meetings were the first opportunity that community residents had to give ideas and suggestions on what they would like to see in their town or city in the future.
The meetings were hosted by the local government of the prospective town and city, the Chilton County Industrial Development Authority and Next Move Group.
Chad Chancellor of the Next Move Group led the discussions with a series of questions, which attendees answered working in groups. Answers were written down and collected. These answers, and those from the survey, will be used by Next Move Group to develop a strategic plan that governmental leaders can use to help guide future development and growth while preserving what makes the town unique.
