The YMCA of Chilton County will be opening up its courts to volleyball players on Aug. 9 and 10.
A back to school volleyball bash will be put on by the Peach City Volleyball Club at the YMCA from 3-5 p.m. on those days. Kids ages 9-17 are eligible to register for the event.
The purpose of the event is to get kids ready to go back to school as well as teaching them the fundamentals of the game of volleyball, according to Paige Gore, co-founder of the Peach City Volleyball Club. Interactive games as well as drills will be a part of the itinerary.
“We decided to do a back to school bash, that way … we can help girls learn about volleyball and progress their knowledge in it,” Gore said.
The price for the event is $60 per person for the two days if the participant is a YMCA member. If they are not a member, the price is $75.
To register, one can either call the YMCA at 205-755-2382 or they can go to the YMCA and register. Registration is open up to the day of the event.
