“On 7-29-21 at approximately 3:09 p.m., Chilton County E-911 received a call stating a burnt vehicle was located on a logging road near Montevallo. The caller also advised they believed there was a deceased body in the vehicle,” Sheriff John Shearon said in a statement released on the CCSO Facebook.
The Chilton County Sheriff’s Office and the Jemison Police Department responded to the location off of Highway 155 and discovered “skeletal remains of three individuals inside the (burnt) vehicle.”
“Law Enforcement worked throughout the night processing the vehicle and removing the remains, which are being sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science in Montgomery,” Shearon said. “We are asking the citizens for their help, and if you know of anyone missing please contact the Chilton County Sheriff’s Office at 205-755-4698 or Chilton County 911 at 205-755-1120 or 205-755-2511.”
