The town of Thorsby is preparing to once again hold its Fourth of July celebration.
The event will take place on June 30 at Richard Wood Park in Thorsby, and will begin at 7 p.m.
All the festivities will begin with the God and Country event being put on by the local churches in Thorsby. The churches in attendance will be First Baptist of Thorsby, The Church at Bethel, Collins Chapel and Pates Chapel.
Things will kick off with some praise and worship before a prayer session where leaders from the churches will pray for the different needs of the people in the town, as well as pray for the country.
Afterwards, Thorsby Mayor Robert Hight and the town council will gather at the soldier memorial in town and recognize the veterans present. They will then lay the wreath at the memorial.
The event will conclude with a fireworks show.
