Ruth Smith Yarbrough, age 76, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on Thursday, June 3, 2021.
Ruth was born Sept. 22, 1944 to Howard and Gertrude Smith.
An administrative assistant to the executive director of the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions, Ruth was known throughout the state for her support role to Dr. Troy Morrison and other leaders.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Gertrude Smith; her brothers, Reedie Smith, John D. Smith, Douglas Smith and Jerry Wayne Smith and her sisters-in-law, Carolyn Smith, LaRue Smith and Dot Smith.
Mrs. Yarbrough is survived by her husband of 55 years, Hugh Terry Yarbrough Sr.; her children: Hugh Terry Yarbrough, Jr., Quito, Ecuador; Kevin Paul (Jennifer) Yarbrough, Advance, North Carolina; Steven Joel Yarbrough, Melbourne, Florida; granddaughter Leslie Caroline Yarbrough; and her siblings: James Roy (Dorothy) Smith, Arizona; Marie (Ralph) Smith, Verbena, and Idis (David) Edwards, Verbena.
A visitation for Ruth will be held Tuesday, June 8, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama 36109, followed by a celebration of life service at 11 a.m. Services will conclude with a family only committal at Alabama Heritage Cemetery.
