The Impact Ninja Martial Arts Camp is back again this summer at the YMCA of Chilton County.

The camp, held for kids ages 3-6, will be held on four separate days throughout the summer. It will be held on June 16, June 30, July 7 and July 21.

Impact Martial Arts has been teaming up with the YMCA to put on this camp for the last three years, according to Impact Martial Arts owner Sean Gilham.

Not only does Gilham run Impact Martial Arts, he also runs the martial arts program at the YMCA. He does camps for children that are seven years old or older, and he began this camp because he wanted to do something for children even younger.

“We call it a child-development program,” Gilham said. “We wanted to offer them a camp … so we wanted to do a little Ninja Day camp for the 3-to 6-year-olds.”

The camp is available to anyone that wants to sign up. There is already about a dozen kids registered to take part in the first Impact Ninja Camp on June 16. To register, go to the website www.clantonmartialarts.com.

“I’m excited, especially for this age group” Gilham said. “All the games we do are related to their developmental stages and enhancing them with what the drills and the games consist of.”
