Local artists have an opportunity to show off their work at the Roy Wood Peach Festival Art Show.
Artwork must be delivered to River Bank & Trust’s downtown Clanton location on June 23 between noon and 2 p.m. for inclusion.
All artwork must be original.
“Drawings, watercolors, pastels and any works on paper must be matted, framed and ready to display,” according to contest rules.
Cash prizes will be given for first, second, third and honorable mention in a student (high school or younger) division and an adult division. The prize for first place is $100.
Artwork will be on display June 24-30 at the bank.
Donny Finlayson, art show coordinator, said even though the show is in conjunction with the Peach Festival, the art does not have to feature peaches.
Artists can enter two pieces into the show.
“I like the artists to be able to display their work and people who come in to be able to see it,” Finlayson said.
He said many times only an artist’s family gets to see their work.
However, there are artists who enter work in the show year after year.
Participation is open to everyone.
Awards will be given out June 24 at the bank.
River Bank &Trust’s downtown location is located at 620 Second Ave. N in Clanton.
