Doug Thompson 

Doug Thompson went home on Dec. 25 at Shelby Hospital surrounded by his family.

He was born Oct. 5, 1947.

He was a home builder. He loved horses, fishing and Alabama Football. His pride and joy were his children and grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents Harold and Ludene Thompson and his brother, James.

He leaves behind the love of his life, Lynda; daughter, Jamie (Brian) Culp; son, Doug (Robin) Thompson; sisters, Janet (Ron) Campbell, Marg Fletcher, Gwen Blackwell; grandchildren, Samantha Bone, Kaylynn (Ruan) Van Rensburg, Britnee Thompson, Jared Culp, Trever Thompson; great grandchildren, Jake and Sadie Bone; his favorite aunt, Lena (Pat) Hollock and a host of nieces and nephews.

Due to COVID, a celebration of his life will be determined at a later date.
