Evelyn Owen Conway, 95, of Clanton, Alabama passed to her heavenly home Thursday December 24, 2020 at her residence. She was born December 19, 1925 in Chilton County, Alabama, daughter of Hannon Owen and Odie Traywick Owen.
Evelyn faithfully served her church, Mulberry Baptist, as a Sunday School teacher and WMU leader for 60 years. Evelyn was a strong supporter of Southern Baptist Missions through her many trips across the U.S. with Campers on Mission where she was a charter member.
Evelyn was a retired educator. She was a graduate of Jacksonville State University and Auburn University.
Surviving are her son, David (Pat) Conway of Clanton, daughter, Martha (Bobby) Atkinson of Alabaster, three grandsons, Brent (Kathie) Conway of Clanton, Keith (Ashley) Conway of Tucson, AZ, and Grant (Caroline) Atkinson of Clarksville, TN, two great grandsons, Colton Conway and Ethan Conway.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 50 years, Gordon Conway, brother, Carlos Owen, sister, Nell Haggard, and great grandson, Gracson Conway.
Friends will be received Monday December 28, 2020 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Mulberry Baptist Church Family Life Center with Rev. David Bishop and Rev. Andy Mims officiating.
Services will be held Monday December 28, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Mulberry Baptist Church Family Life center with internment in the church cemetery.
The family requires that mask be worn and social distancing be practiced.
No flowers please. Memorials may be made to the Mulberry Baptist Church Cemetery Fund at 12268 County Road 15, Maplesville, Alabama 36750, or to the charity of your choice.
