Charles Kenneth Mitchell “Ken” as he was known born June 20, 1938 passed into his heavenly home Sept. 6 2020.

On Sunday Sept. 6 2020, at approximately 1:20 pm, Charles Kenneth Mitchell went to his final resting place in Heaven. Some 5 plus years ago, Ken Mitchell started his terrible battle against an unforgiving foe of dementia. Ken is survived by his sister Aileen Mims, brother Jerry Turnipseed (Nikki), son Gary Mitchell (Melanie), daughter Patsy Mitchell Lee (Jim), granddaughter Jacqueline Lee and girlfriend Jane Noe her daughter Mindy(Paul)and their children Meghan and Jacob. The mother of his children Tommie Mitchell.

He is preceded in death by his father Elbert Mitchell, mother Cozy Garner Mitchell and brother Leon Bert Mitchell.

Ken was an avid turkey hunter and enjoyed the chase for over 60 years.

Ken was employed at Moore Handley for 45 years.

Ken waited many years but was excited when he gave his life to Christ on 08/31/2017.

Mr. Mitchell’s visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 10, 2020 from 5 – 7 p.m. at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo). His funeral service will Friday, Sept. 11, 2020 at 11 a.m., he will lie in state an hour prior to the service at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church #2 in Maplesville. Rev. Tony Reynolds will be officiating.
