The Human Society of Chilton County has announced that it will temporarily close to the public as a precaution against COVID-19.
The closure is effective immediately, but the animal shelter will still provide intake and adoption service by appointment only.
“We apologize for any inconvenience, but we must protect our workers and visitors,” the organization stated. “Rest assured the fur babies will be taken care of daily during this time!”
An announcement on the organization’s Facebook stated:
“Appointments can be made by:
- Calling 205-755-9170. Leave a message if no one answers and you will be contacted. Messages will be checked daily.
- Message us on Facebook and leave a call back number.
- Email us at chiltonhumane@gmail.com and leave a call back number.”
The Humane Society is also encouraging those with missing pets to check the “Stray Hold” photo album on Facebook.
The Currently Available Dogs and Cats photo albums (on Facebook) will be kept current for your viewing to adopt or rescue,” the post stated.
