The Thorsby Town Council approved a resolution to maintain its current agreement with the state of Alabama, which allows the town to cut grass along U.S. 31, during its Feb. 17 meeting.
The agreement between the parties is required to be renewed annually.
U.S. 31 cuts through downtown Thorsby and is a heavily-trafficked route connecting Thorsby to its neighboring cities of Jemison and Clanton.
Brandon Blackman was also approved by the Council to be reserve officer with the Thorsby Police Department.
The January financial statement was approved along with the authority to pay the town’s bills and transfer the funds.
The minutes from the Feb. 3 Council meeting were approved.
