Pat Handley of Clanton passed away Dec. 16, 2019, at 93 years of age. His parents William E. Handley, Sr. and Minnie M Handley preceded him in death. Viewing will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 3, 2020, with graveside service to be held at noon at Currie Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover.

Mr. Handley was a native of Gardendale, Alabama and a graduate of Mortimer Jordan High School where he excelled in varsity baseball and basketball. He joined the U.S. Navy and served in World War II and the Korean Conflict, receiver of an Honorable Discharge.

His career was in transportation, starting with Gordon Transportation as sales manager before beginning his own brokerage company, which he operated until his death.

He was preceded in death by his first and second wife, Fay C. Handley and Deloris (Dee) C. Handley; his siblings: Carl Handley, Hurshel Handley, Ruby H. Morgan, Lucy H. Ambrose and William Handley, Jr.

He was much loved by too numerous friends to count especially many nieces and nephews.
